Welcome to Goshen Conference of Christian Churches.

A Month of Sundays Campaign

While in Sunday School, the question was asked, "If all the churches in our community should disappear, would anyone notice." Some said yes, and some said no. But it does bring us to wonder if our Goshen community of churches is doing enough to bring Christ into the daily lives of the people of the community who are not attending church.

So here proposed is a Conference of Goshen Community Churches, focused on bringing the relevance of Christ to the un-churched in our community in the modern era. Also, to create the goal of changing the hearts of the entire community to consider a more righteous and abundant life.

Let's bring the Church to the Modern World, instead of changing the Church in reaction to the Modern World!

The Conference will consist of:

  1. A meeting or series of meetings composed of Goshen Church Pastors and Church Leadership.
  2. Agreement on the Meaning of the Gospel and basic Christian Biblical Principals.
  3. The creation of a series of four citywide sermons designed to show how God, Jesus, and Biblical Principals are relevant in modern times.
  4. A four week marketed campaign of outreach to the community promoting attendance at one of the participating churches.

The Conference agrees:

  1. People are Human Beings. All have sinned.
  2. God is the Supreme Being and Creator.
  3. Jesus is the Christ, God incarnate, sacrificed to save Human Beings from insurmountable sin, and in so grants access to God.
  4. The Holy Spirit of Christ is continually at work planting the seeds of Love, Righteousness, and the desire to be with God in the hearts of Human Beings.

What the Conference is NOT about:

  1. Forcing morality onto the community.
(Instead more about God's currency, called Love, and the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ)
  2. The question of Homosexuality in the church, right or wrong.
(People concerned about this should create a separate forum.)
  3. Collection of Money.
  4. Charity and/or Missions.
(Other than the mission of promoting how faith and biblical principals can work in modern times to heal our land)

What the Conference is about:

  1. A reprioritization of what is MOST important for a healthy and joyous life.
  2. The understanding that God should be at the top of the priority list.
  3. Teach the lesson of how Faith is more important than intellectual understanding when dealing with the difficulties of the modern lifestyle.
  4. How God, Jesus, and the use of Faith is relevant to our daily lives in modern times.

Sermons will use biblical references explaining who we REALLY ARE as humans, along with modern day examples how trusting God, a higher power, and finding God's Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ will improve our modern daily lives.

Similar, but not "prosperity gospel." Rather, promoting how the use of faith will produce the prosperity of a joyful lifestyle through the fulfillment of God's Master Plan.

As fishers of Men, the hook is, Real Life and Real Joy is not so much a product of our behavior, but rather a product of our Faith. All we have to do is turn to God, through Christ and confess that we need him. When we get life's priorities in the correct order, then our behavior will change automatically and our lives will be improved because we will be living in the light of Faith rather than the darkness of uncertainty.

Series Topics:

  1. We live a flawed existence.
  2. God is an infinite God. We are not God and as such are subject to serve his will.
  3. Jesus Christ saves us to the eternal by compensating for our short comings.
  4. How Faith works in our daily lives and in modern times by replacing our fear with confidence.

Series Titles: A Month of Sundays

  1. I Once was Blind
  2. The Great I Am
  3. Now I'm Found: Submitting My Life to Jesus
  4. Modern Life: Live in Fear or Live in Faith

Each Pastor may tweak his/her sermons to fit within the individual Church Constitution as long as the agreed basic core lesson is adhered to.
